As the heat index rises every year, culture blooms on the Historic Marietta Square. From concerts and art strolls to outside dining and cocktail lounging, our enchanting small town boasts all the sophistication and electricity of urban destinations around the country. Today, we’ll let you in on some of dk Gallery’s favorite happenings from around town.

Art Life

Art is alive in Marietta– local talent is abundant, art-lovers plentiful, and opportunities abound.  Our favorite events engage the community and bring life to Marietta. Locals and those ITP love Marietta Square Art Walk for its authenticity and energy. Artists display work throughout Downtown Marietta and live music resounds around every corner. Merchants and restaurants offer late-night shopping and dining. Don’t forget that dk Gallery hosts their first Friday art opening that night! Art Walk is every First Friday through November. Definitely a don’t missevent.

Our quaint, local Artists Market is each 2nd & 4th Saturday on Mill Street alongside the Farmers Market.   Discover sweet, handmade artistic finds from paintings to ceramics. 9am to 2pm, April to November.

Must-See Art Openings:

For the Foodie

Marietta Square is a Foodie’s paradise! Our favorite restaurants reside in the Square and feature “alfresco” dining, fresh ingredients, farm-to-table, interesting fusions, and tasty treats. In fact, there are over 30 restaurants representing 15 different nationalities now. Find a full list of restaurants at this link. You’re sure to pick a winner, but today we highlight a few new kids on the block.

La Famiglia, the inside scoop about this restaurant it is under new ownership and will slowly evolve into a new modern Italian fare and will be called Piatto. Watch for slow but important changes over the next severely months. We are holding out hope for a great Italian dining experience on the square.

1 Block Over, opened this week, is located on Powder Springs Street across from Marietta Wine Market. WOW! You’ve got to check out this trendy renovated space. We can’t wait to try out the menu, featuring a diverse selection ranging from $8- $16.

Tiny Bubbles Tea Bar opened in April. This sweet hole-in-the-wall (right next to dk) is a modern place to meet a friend and have a chat over hot tea, coffee, or bubble tea. And O-M-G… the Nutella bubble tea

If you haven’t been around the square for a while, you may have missed the opening of StockyardBurgers & Bones. All we can say is YUM! Unique, juicy options, great prices, and now featuring alfresco dining.
